With hearts full of gratitude and pride, the Helping Hand Club of Suncity School-37D successfully conducted its first student-led initiative, Project Upahaar – Phase I, on April 30, 2026, to commemorate Labour Day.
Our young learners from Grades III to V, took the lead in celebrating the invaluable contributions of our support staff through thoughtful and compassionate actions. From organising a donation drive with neatly packed goody bags, to creating a heartfelt Gratitude Board filled with appreciation notes, every effort reflected empathy and respect.
The Badge Campaign added a special touch, as students honoured our everyday heroes with tokens of appreciation. The initiative culminated in a meaningful “Service in Action” segment, where student volunteers served food to the support staff, embodying humility and gratitude.
This initiative truly brought to life the values of kindness, responsibility, and respect for the dignity of labour.

GRADE VA CELEBRATES EARTH DAY WITH A POWERFUL MESSAGE OF HOPE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The students of Grade VA conducted a meaningful and thought-provoking special assembly on the occasion of Earth Day, spreading awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. The assembly beautifully highlighted the theme of environmental responsibility through confident presentations, inspiring messages, and a powerful street play.

The programme began with a warm welcome and a moment of reflection, reminding everyone that Earth is not just our home, but also our shared responsibility. The students presented the *Thought of the Day*, *Word of the Day – Biodiversity*, and informative news updates, displaying confidence and excellent stage presence.

A lively poem and an impactful street play titled *“Save Earth, Save Life”* captured the audience’s attention as students portrayed the consequences of pollution, deforestation, and careless human actions. Through expressive performances and meaningful dialogues, the young performers conveyed an important message — every small action can make a big difference in saving our planet.

The assembly further connected the message of Earth Day with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDGs 6 & 14 focusing on clean water and marine life. Students encouraged everyone to adopt sustainable habits such as reducing plastic use, conserving water, and planting more trees.

A special Earth Day pledge inspired the audience to commit towards protecting the environment and creating a greener future. The assembly concluded with a strong reminder that *“There is No Planet B”* and that together, we can heal and protect our Earth for future generations.

The event was a wonderful reflection of creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, leaving the audience inspired to become responsible caretakers of the planet. 🌎✨

Spread Joy and Unity Through Music

Our Grade III to V students recently captivated the school community with their inspiring performances of “We Are the World” and “Three Little Birds.” Through their energetic singing, expressive performances, and joyful spirit, the students beautifully shared messages of unity, kindness, hope, and positivity.

“We Are the World,” written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, encouraged students to reflect on compassion and working together to make the world a better place. The cheerful reggae classic “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley brought smiles and reminded everyone to stay positive with its uplifting message: “Every little thing is gonna be alright.”

The performances helped students strengthen their musical skills while building confidence, teamwork, rhythm, and stage presence in a fun and engaging environment.

​Modern Jazz
Students learned and recalled basic Modern Jazz techniques.
They understood the importance of rhythm, timing, and coordination while dancing to music.
Students applied their learning by performing movements accurately and synchronizing steps confidently with musical beats.
They analyzed movement quality by differentiating between fast and slow movements and using appropriate energy, balance, and control.
As a creative outcome, students performed a short, choreographed routine using the learned dance patterns and techniques.
This lesson was integrated with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), promoting health, happiness, and positive energy among students in a meaningful way.

​Students participated in an integrated Art activity based on map-scroll making. During the activity, they learned different techniques to give paper an old, antique look and created burnt effects using spray methods. Students also explored the sea route of Vasco da Gama to India and represented it creatively through map drawing. This activity helped them connect Art with History and Geography in an engaging way. It also enhanced their creativity, map-reading skills, and understanding of historical exploration.

OORJA PRACTICE

​Poetry, stories, and language help us see the world not just as it is, but as it feels.
December focused on strengthening literary understanding, grammar skills, and critical thinking through engaging and structured learning experiences. Students revised Direct and Indirect Speech and enhanced grammar proficiency through practice in verbs and conjunctions (FANBOYS). Literature lessons centred on Unit 3 – Wind Poems, where students explored similes and metaphors to understand imagery, mood, and the poet’s portrayal of the wind. Reading aloud, discussions, and written responses helped students appreciate figurative language and poetic expression. The Supplementary Reader – The Five Orange Pips introduced learners to detective fiction, encouraging them to analyse plot, suspense, and character motivation while developing logical reasoning skills. Grammar learning was reinforced through notebook tasks, quizzes, and flipped learning activities.
Assessments this month included a PBL presentation, dictation, reading assessment, and listening comprehension, strengthening students’ language, analytical, writing, and comprehension skills through reflective and application-based learning.

​Learning Beyond Boundaries – Maps, Globes, and Inspiring Leaders

December was a meaningful learning month for our Grade 5 learners as they explored Globes and Maps and learned about World Leaders and Great Indians who shaped history. Through engaging discussions and activities, students developed a clearer understanding of the world and deeper respect for inspirational personalities.

Children learned how a globe represents the Earth in a round form, while maps help us study different places on a flat surface. They explored continents, oceans, countries, and directions, understanding how these tools help us read, locate, and understand our world better.

Students were also introduced to remarkable leaders like Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, and Mahatma Gandhi, understanding their courage, leadership, and dedication toward humanity. They further learned about great Indians such as Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Sushruta, Charaka, and Rani Lakshmi Bai, whose contributions in education, medicine, bravery, and nation-building continue to inspire us.

December encouraged learners to think globally, feel inspired, and become responsible citizens with knowledge, compassion, and confidence.

​Mathematics learning in Grade V progressed with strong emphasis on Measurements, where students solved word problems involving multiplication and division of different units. Through guided practice, they strengthened their conceptual understanding and applied measurement skills to real-life situations.

In the Money unit, students were introduced to the concept of money and practised number operations involving currency. Learning was further extended to Cost Price, Selling Price, Profit, and Loss, with discussions rooted in everyday examples. Students computed profit and loss and solved problems to find missing cost price or selling price, enhancing their financial literacy and logical reasoning.

The Geometry segment began with a recapitulation of points, lines, line segments, and rays, followed by an introduction to types of angles and triangles. Students also learnt to measure angles accurately and participated in a group activity that made angle measurement both interactive and engaging.

Learning became more visual and enjoyable through Symmetry and Patterns, where students practised identifying lines of symmetry and patterns. Through a Shin Edu activity, these concepts were further reinforced using hands-on and interactive tasks.

In the Time unit, students practised relating and converting different units of time, strengthening accuracy and problem-solving skills.

Overall, the month’s learning encouraged conceptual clarity, real-life application, and confidence in using mathematical skills effectively.

​In the month of December, students learned many important concepts in French. They revised the months of the year and the days of the week, which helped them talk about dates and daily routines. They also studied family vocabulary such as mère, père, frère, sœur, grand-mère and gave a family presentation as a speaking activity, where they described their family members using adjectifs possessifs like mon, ma, mes.  In chapter 8, students practiced grammar through different exercises that improved their understanding of sentence formation. They also learned about French festivals such as Noël and la Fête nationale, and discovered many animals (les animaux). Along with this, students studied adjectives and the agreement of adjectives (accord des adjectifs), learning how adjectives change according to gender and number, for example un petit chat and deux grandes maisons. Overall, December was an enriching month filled with learning, speaking practice, and cultural discovery in French.

​In December, our Spanish classes were filled with engaging learning and rich cultural exploration. Students learned to identify basic shapes and recognise colours in Spanish. A key highlight was a creative poster activity in which students designed a shape monster, colouring it using the Spanish colour vocabulary learned in class.

Students also explored vocabulary related to body parts through interactive activities. Additionally, during online classes, they participated in a Christmas card–making activity, where they learned and practised greetings used to wish others during Christmas. Using only the target language, students created their own cards, which they will exchange in the next lesson to further enhance cultural understanding and language exposure.

​In December, the Grade 5 German classes focused on the topic „Was sind deine Hobbys?“, which helped students talk about their interests in German with confidence. Students learned the names of many hobbies such as lesen, malen, tanzen, singen, schwimmen, Fußball spielen, Rad fahren and Musik hören. Along with vocabulary, special emphasis was given to verbs and verb conjugation, where students practiced using verbs correctly with ich, du, er, sie and wir in simple sentences like Ich lese gern and Er spielt Fußball. To make learning enjoyable and interactive, several games were conducted in class. One of the most popular activities was pantomime, where students acted out different hobbies and the class guessed the correct verb in German. These games helped students improve their speaking skills, pronunciation, and confidence. Students also practiced asking and answering questions such as „Was sind deine Hobbys?“ and „Was machst du gern?“ Through regular practice, repetition, and fun activities, students showed great enthusiasm and participation throughout the month. By the end of December, students were able to identify various hobbies, use verbs accurately, and form simple German sentences independently, making the learning experience both meaningful and enjoyable.

​From blocks to brilliant ideas, Scratch made coding fun and meaningful.

In December, our Grade V students learned coding using Scratch by creating variables, using operators, generating random numbers, and cloning sprites. Integrating SST, students designed Scratch projects where sprites held conversations answering questions on great leaders of the world, along with creating an interactive soccer ball game-making learning creative, cross-curricular, and engaging.

​Badminton: Students practised footwork and movements with a shuttlecock. Task 1 included juggling with a shuttle, while Task 2 focused on playing with teammates and opponents to build camaraderie among peers. Students also practised six-corner footwork, clear skill drills, and match play.

Swimming: Students practised breathing techniques both inside and outside the water, bubbling exercises, freestyle kicking on the spot, and arm actions of the freestyle stroke.

Gymnastics: Students performed standing bridge, hop cartwheel, wall handstand, high beam activities, balancing beam exercises, and podium jumps.

Judo: Students practised ukemi techniques (back fall), tsugi ashi (walking movement), mae ukemi (front fall), and ayumi ashi (walking movement).

Shooting: Students were introduced to weapons, fundamentals, and safety rules. Practice included learning range commands, double-hand holding with a 1 kg dumbbell for 30 seconds, without a dumbbell for 45 seconds, dummy holding on the wall, and practising the firing position.

Cricket, Football, Tennis, Basketball: Due to poor Air Quality Index (AQI) levels and as per government guidelines, outdoor sports activities were temporarily suspended to safeguard students’ health.

Despite these restrictions, students actively participated in sports through indoor and low-exposure activities. They enjoyed indigenous games such as Kho-Kho, which helped improve agility, coordination, and teamwork. Students also took part in indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Box Cricket, and other fitness activities to remain active and engaged.

These adjustments ensured that sports learning continued safely. We looked forward to resuming outdoor games once air quality improved and conditions became safe for our students.

​Vocal warm-up was conducted to prepare the voice for singing and included deep breathing, humming, Sa-Re-Ga practice, lip rolling, and light aalap.

“Door Ek Tara Ja Raha Hai” is a Hindi Christmas devotional song based on the birth of Jesus Christ. The song depicted a shining star guiding people to Bethlehem and spreading the message of love, peace, and hope.

Keharwa taal is an 8-beat rhythm commonly used in light and devotional songs. On the congo, it was played with a bass sound on the first beat, open tones on the third and seventh beats, and soft strokes on the remaining beats.

Grades III–V  share a Serene Performance of “Silent Night” 

This month, students from Grades III to V presented a serene and soulful performance of the timeless carol “Silent Night.” With calm voices, controlled dynamics, and thoughtful expression, they beautifully conveyed the song’s message of peace, hope, and quiet reflection.

The performance was enhanced by soft percussion and melodic instrumental accompaniment, with students carefully listening to one another and blending as an ensemble. Through focused practice, they demonstrated improved pitch accuracy, rhythmic control, and coordination, creating a tranquil atmosphere that encouraged listeners to pause and reflect.

We are proud of our students’ dedication and growing musicianship, and we thank the music department for guiding them in sharing music that inspires peace, harmony, and togetherness.

​CONTEMPORARY JAZZ.                                                                                                                   
In this month's Western Dance class, our students explored the vibrant world of Contemporary Jazz. The session combined warm-ups, foundational ballet techniques, and expressive travelling movements to help students build both strength and creativity.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

• Warm-Up: Getting the Bodies Ready- The class began with gentle stretches for arms and legs, light jogging in place, and calming breathing exercises. These activities helped students focus, center themselves, and prepare their bodies for safe and energetic dancing.                                                                               
•  Understanding Contemporary Jazz- Students were introduced to Contemporary Jazz, a dynamic blend of jazz dance and contemporary movement. This style is smooth, expressive, and often tells a story through dance. It combines sharp jazz steps with flowing contemporary moves, allowing students to be both powerful and graceful.                                                                                                
•  Why Ballet Techniques are important- We discussed the importance of ballet as the foundation for jazz and contemporary dance. Ballet provides strength, balance, and control. It teaches positions and techniques that make movements cleaner and stronger. Without ballet basics, jazz steps can feel unsteady—but with ballet, they shine brightly!        
• Demi Pliés in Parallel Feet- Students practised demi pliés (half bends of the knees) with feet in parallel. This exercise warms up the legs and prepares dancers for jumps and turns, building strength and flexibility.                                                                                                            
  
• Ballet 1st Position- We introduced the 1st position. This position is the starting point for many ballet movements and helps dancers develop posture and alignment.                                       
  
• Demi Plies in Ballet 1st Position- Combining the two skills, students performed demi pliés in 1st position. This exercise strengthens the legs, improves balance, and enhances flexibility.
  
• Contemporary Travel- Finally, students explored contemporary traveling steps—movements that carry them across the floor with flow and expression. These included slides, runs, and leaps, encouraging the students to connect their movements and use space creatively.

​Students observed the winter view from their window and noted changes in the weather and surroundings. They included details such as misty air, falling snow, and people dressed in warm clothes to represent the winter season. Children combined real-life observations with imagination to make the scene lively and meaningful. Mixed media such as watercolours, oil pastels, and pencil colours were used to enhance the mood and details of the artwork.

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.
Grade V students joyfully celebrated Christmas on 24 December with a blend of creativity and togetherness. The highlight of the day was a Small 3D Gift Box–Making Activity, where students showcased their artistic skills and festive spirit.
Adding warmth to the celebration, a Pot Luck Activity was organised to promote sharing and community bonding. Children brought simple, child-friendly, neatly packed food items, making the experience both enjoyable and meaningful.
Dressed in smart, comfortable, Christmas-themed casual attire, the students filled the classrooms with cheer, laughter, and the true spirit of Christmas—sharing, caring, and celebrating together.

​November was a productive month filled with engaging grammar, literature, writing, and skill-building activities. Students began with PA-2 revisions, including reading comprehension, diary entry, and literature, to strengthen accuracy and confidence before assessments. They then moved into Unit 8: Adverbs, exploring types such as manner, time, place, frequency, and degree. Students learned to identify and apply adverbs effectively in writing. Creative tasks like the Adverb Calligram activity added an artistic dimension to learning.

In literature, students worked on Nelson Pupil Book – Unit 11: Shipwrecked. They analysed characters, settings, problems, and solutions through mind maps, discussions, and comprehension tasks. Students were shown audiovisual aids of the Titanic shipwreck, the visuals sparked curiosity and empathy as learners reflected on survival situations and resilience.

The month also introduced learners to Autobiography writing, where they explored structure, elements, and voice through guided tasks such as Autobiography of Earth, Autobiography of a Metro, and PBL work on monuments was assigned in November and presentations will be taken in December.

November strengthened students’ communication, thinking, writing, reading, research, and collaboration skills, making it an enriching learning journey.

​Learners began with Soil studies, examining the soil profile, the process of weathering, and the impact of erosion, while also reflecting on practical methods of soil conservation.

The journey then advanced to States of Matter, where students investigated how matter shifts between forms, experimented with solutions of solutes and solvents, and explored miscible versus immiscible liquids through interactive sessions. They also distinguished between physical and chemical changes, becoming confident in analysing and classifying transformations. This month’s learning empowered students to connect scientific concepts with real-world challenges, nurturing curiosity and responsibility.

Caring for Our Planet – Understanding Pollution and the 6Rs

November was a month of awareness and action for our Grade V learners as they explored two important themes: Pollution and its Types and Saving Our Earth through the 6Rs. The month encouraged them to think deeply about the environment and their own role in protecting it.
Students learned about the four major types of pollution—air, water, land, and noise. Through videos, discussions, and real-life examples, they understood how each type affects our health, plants, animals, and the balance of nature. They identified common causes of pollution around them and shared simple ways to reduce it in daily life.
The learning became even more meaningful as students explored the 6Rs—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle, and Replace. Through hands-on activities and class challenges, they discovered how small, daily choices can create a big impact. They learned to refuse unnecessary plastic, reduce waste, reuse materials creatively, repair broken items, recycle properly, and replace harmful products with eco-friendly alternatives.
Connecting their learning to SDG 13 – Climate Action and SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, students realised that caring for the planet begins with individual responsibility. Their reflections and classroom efforts showed a growing sense of environmental stewardship.
November was all about understanding problems, taking action, and becoming young guardians of our Earth—one thoughtful choice at a time.

Students continued strengthening their mathematical understanding as they worked with Decimals and Measurements through guided practice and real-life applications. They learned to multiply decimals by whole numbers and by other decimals, and to divide decimals by whole numbers. A quick recapitulation of fractions and decimals helped reinforce fluency.

The introduction to Measurements made learning more practical. Students practised converting units of length, weight, and capacity, followed by adding and subtracting different units. They applied these skills through engaging Shin Edu activities that supported concept clarity, especially in understanding how units change during conversions.

Through a series of word problems, students further explored operations on measurements—including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. These tasks helped them connect mathematical operations to real-world scenarios, enhancing both problem-solving skills and confidence.

This month in French class, students continued their work on Verbs (Chapter 7), strengthening their understanding of conjugations through engaging in written and oral exercises. A significant portion of the month was devoted to PA-2 revision, where learners revisited key grammar topics, vocabulary, and comprehension skills through interactive worksheets and quick revision activities. To add a cultural touch, the class also explored “Les fromages et les desserts,” learning about famous French cheeses and classic desserts while expanding their vocabulary and cultural awareness. Overall, it was a productive and enriching month filled with learning, practice, and curious conversations.

Last month in November, our Spanish classes were filled with exciting learning and cultural exploration. Students mastered the concepts of telling time, understanding dates, and recognising the days of the week, essential for everyday conversations. A highlight was learning how to talk about birthdays, where students practised expressing their own birthdates in Spanish and wishing others in the language. We also dove into the world of Spanish cuisine, discovering traditional dishes like paella, tortilla española, and enchilada, etc. The students enthusiastically engaged in discussions about meals of the day in Spain, comparing them to their own routines. It was a month of enriching experiences, combining language skills with cultural insights to enhance learning! Students also appeared for Periodic Assessment 2 this month, applying their learning to writing, grammar and description-based tasks with growing confidence and accuracy.

This month, students learned about means of transport, the city, and the home. They also wrote short texts about themselves and their homes in German. Students revised for Periodic Assessment 2 and learned the names of clothes and colours in German, practising how to describe them using adjectives. They played a fun game, “Guess the Colour,” and introduced themselves in German. They also completed a variety of activities such as crosswords, matching exercises, word searches, and colouring images based on descriptions.

"From text to tables, Microsoft Word helps students bring their imagination to life."

In the month of November, our Grade V students learned exciting new tools in Microsoft Word. They explored how to add headers and footers to keep their pages neat and organized. They also used Page Setup to change margins, orientation, and page size.
Students enjoyed creating column layouts, just like in newspapers and magazines. They also learned to insert and format tables to make a clear weekly timetable.
By the end of the lessons, students used all these features to design their very own mini magazine page. It was a fun and creative learning experience!

Our Grade V students recently energized the school community with a powerful and inspiring performance of “Fight Song.” Their confident voices and expressive singing beautifully captured the song’s message of courage, determination, and believing in oneself.

Grade V students created an underwater drawing by choosing sea creatures and elements of their choice. They sketched their ideas carefully and then added details to bring their scenes to life. The children chose oil pastels to colour their artwork, making the underwater world bright and vibrant. ​October was a month of meaningful exploration and scientific curiosity for our Grade V learners. Through the engaging topic of Air and Water, students delved into the invisible yet essential elements that surround and sustain us. They discovered the composition of air, its various uses in daily life, and the fascinating properties that make both air and water vital to our existence.

Our students enthusiastically investigated methods to purify water, learning how simple techniques can make water safe for use at home. These hands-on experiments sparked thoughtful discussions about health, hygiene, and environmental care.

From understanding how air helps us breathe and fly, to exploring how water can be filtered and conserved, this unit offered a rich blend of practical knowledge and scientific wonder. October truly empowered our young scientists to see the world through a lens of curiosity and care.

October was a month of curiosity and deep learning for our Grade V learners as they explored the wonders of nature and the brilliance of human inventions.
Students began by understanding natural disasters such as floods, volcanic eruptions, and droughts, learning how these events affect people, animals, and the environment. They also discussed ways to stay safe and how communities work together to recover after such challenges.
The theme then shifted from nature’s power to human progress, where learners studied Transport and Communication—from traditional means to modern systems like AI and UPI that make life faster and more connected. They discovered how technology helps in sharing information, saving time, and making communication smarter.
In the final part of the month, students travelled back in time to explore how humans began transmitting knowledge. They learned about the Cuneiform, Hieroglyphic, and Devanagari scripts, gaining an understanding of how writing developed across different civilisations. The study of the invention of paper and printing helped them realise how knowledge spread and education became accessible to all.
Linking their learning to SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, students understood how creativity and technology together build a better future.

Our young mathematicians continued their journey of understanding Fractions by practising various questions on Multiplication and Division of Fractions.  To strengthen their foundation, a few sessions were dedicated to recapitulating earlier concepts, clearing doubts, and discussing the different ways fractions are used in everyday life.

After mastering fractions, students were introduced to a new and exciting concept of Decimals. They discovered how decimals are closely related to fractions and how both represent parts of a whole. Using Decimal Grids, students visualized decimal values and understood how each place after the decimal point has its own importance. They explored place values, learned to write numbers in Expanded Form and Word Form, and practiced reading and writing decimal numbers with accuracy.

To deepen their understanding of Decimals, students got engaged in comparing, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing Decimal Numbers. These exercises not only enhanced their numerical skills but also helped them see the connection between fractions and decimals in a fun and meaningful way. ​This month in French class, students explored the theme of fruits and vegetables through Chapter- 6. They learned to identify and describe different fruits using definite articles (le, la, les) and practised -ER ending verbs like aimer, détester, and adorer. The class enjoyed fun and interactive Cahier exercises and participated enthusiastically in the “Fruit Salad – SDG Activity”, linking healthy eating habits to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. During the VIVA session, students confidently spoke about their favourite fruits in French. To enrich their cultural understanding, they also explored the Faces of the Grévin Museum, discovering famous French figures represented in wax. Overall, the month was filled with engaging activities that helped students build their vocabulary, improve their speaking skills, and appreciate French culture in a fun and meaningful way.

This month, the theme revolved around “Die Fahrzeuge” (Means of Transport) and “Die Stadt” (The City), allowing students to expand their vocabulary through fun, interactive, and meaningful activities.

As part of the topic Die Fahrzeuge, students learned the German names for different types of transport such as das Auto, der Bus, das Flugzeug, das Schiff and das Fahrrad. They enthusiastically participated in a hands-on segregation activity, categorizing these vehicles into air, water, and land transport. This activity not only helped reinforce vocabulary but also encouraged students to think critically about sustainability and environmental protection, connecting their learning to Sustainable Development Goal 13 – Climate Action. Students discussed how eco-friendly transport options can help reduce pollution and make our planet greener.

In the next unit, Die Stadt, learners explored vocabulary related to places in a town, such as die Schule, der Park, das Kino, die Bibliothek and das Krankenhaus. Through interactive speaking and writing exercises, they learned to describe their surroundings and places they visit in daily life.

To integrate all their learning, students also wrote a short text in German on the topic “Ich und mein Haus” (Myself and My House). They described their homes, family members, and favorite rooms using complete sentences in German. It was wonderful to see how confidently they applied their new vocabulary and grammar structures.

Working together, they used colorful paper, mirrors, and paints to design and decorate beautiful torans. Each group showcased creativity, teamwork, and festive spirit while crafting their designs.
The finished torans were proudly displayed as Diwali decorations, brightening the surroundings with joy and color.

This month, Grade 5 students explored the chapter Good Health, gaining a deeper understanding of how food and hygiene contribute to overall well-being.
They learnt about different types of nutrients, the importance of a balanced diet, and the impact of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Discussions, visuals, and real-life examples helped them connect these concepts to their daily habits and choices.

Students also began the chapter Natural Disasters, where they discovered the causes and effects of earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, droughts, and forest fires. Informative PPTs and videos brought these powerful natural events to life, sparking curiosity and thoughtful conversations about safety and preparedness.
Interactive tools and collaborative learning made the classroom vibrant, helping students build awareness and apply knowledge in meaningful ways.

​This month, students strengthened their reading, writing, and critical thinking through engaging lessons. In “The Old Forest,” they worked on comprehension by interpreting descriptive phrases and understanding how language creates mood and suspense. With the poem “Changing Times,” they compared life across generations, identified poetic devices such as rhyme, imagery, and contrast, and shared their views in a structured debate. Grammar lessons revised adjectives—degrees, quantifiers, and ordering—through group challenges, practice worksheets, and interactive exercises.

Students also explored persuasive writing with the video Persuasive Writing, applying the OREO strategy (Opinion–Reason–Example–Opinion) to create persuasive pieces on real-world issues like disaster safety and food waste (SDG 12). The month concluded with “The Red-headed League,” where popcorn reading, vocabulary practice, and discussion supported fluency and comprehension.

Overall, students developed confidence in expressing ideas while enhancing collaboration, creativity, and presentation skills.

September was a month of global awareness and natural curiosity for our Grade V learners as they explored two powerful themes—The United Nations and Natural Disasters.
They began by understanding the United Nations—why it was formed, its main objectives, and how it works to promote peace, cooperation, and development across the world. Students were introduced to its key agencies and organs, and also learned about India’s role as an active member. To reflect on their learning creatively, students made sketch-notes that beautifully captured the essence of the UN.
The month continued with a deep dive into Natural Disasters. Learners explored causes and impacts of disasters like cyclones, volcanic eruptions, and landslides, and discussed the importance of safety, preparedness, and early warning systems.

The month of September was truly enriching for Grade V students. It began with the learning of Factors and Multiples, which further strengthened their understanding of Multiplication and Division. They delved deeper into listing Least Common Multiples (LCM) and Highest Common Factors (HCF).

Grade V learners were introduced to the concept of Fractions and their types through an engaging, hands-on activity using the Jodo Gyan Fraction Kit. Student-led sessions and inquiry-based questioning helped them explore Unit Fractions effectively and compare them using the kit with ease. They participated in discussions, took notes on various Types of Fractions, and practised converting Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers and vice versa.

Students also learned about Equivalent Fractions and solved related exercises. They were introduced to the Addition and Subtraction of Unlike Fractions by first understanding how to convert them into Like Fractions. Regular practice helped reinforce these concepts. The month concluded with the introduction of Multiplication of Fractions, followed by Division of Fractions, allowing students to apply their knowledge confidently through ample practice.

​This month in French class, our young learners explored several exciting themes while strengthening their language skills. We began with a focus on French accents, understanding how accents change the sound and meaning of words. Studentspractisedd pronunciation drills and enjoyed interactive games to identify words with accent aigu, accent grave, and tréma. Moving forward, the children learned to say “Présentez-vous” by introducing themselves in French with confidence—stating their name, age, and hobbies. We also dived into parts of the face and body vocabulary, where students sang along to catchy French songs like “Tête, épaules, genoux et pieds”and labelledd diagrams to reinforce their learning. A revision of the verb Avoir helped students frame simple sentences such as “J’ai deux yeux” or “J’ai une sœur”, connecting grammar to real-life contexts. To assess their progress, the class appeared for Half-Yearly Class Tests 1 and 2, where they showcased not only their recall of vocabulary and grammar but also their ability to use French in creative ways. ​September Recap: Reflecting Through Music 🎶

This September, students from Grades III to V revisited some of the most meaningful and inspiring songs they’ve learned throughout the year. The revision sessions served as a wonderful opportunity to reinforce musical concepts, vocal techniques, and the values embedded in each piece.

April–August Recap & Revision Highlights- As the rhythm continues, our Grades 3–5 students returned to the class with energy, enthusiasm, and a shared goal: to revisit, refine, and rejoice in the Western dance forms they’ve explored from April to August. This revision series was more than a recap—it was a celebration of growth, grit, and groove.
2. Warm-Up & Body Awareness- Each class began with dynamic warm-up routines and stretching sequences that reawakened muscle memory and encouraged mindful movement. Through simple locomotor and non-locomotor exercises, students reconnected with their bodies, building awareness of posture, alignment, and spatial control.
3. Reinforcement & Retention- The students revisited key concepts from earlier units—rhythmic patterns, style-specific movements, and expressive techniques. Through guided repetition, students reinforced their understanding while supporting one another’s learning journeys.
4. Improvement & Refining- With a focus on clarity and precision, students worked on refining their execution. Whether it was mastering syncopation in Jazz or enhancing fluidity in lyrical sequences, students practiced with purpose—improving speed, accuracy, and expressive depth in every move.
5. Building a Strong foundation- By the end of the revision cycle, students demonstrated noticeable improvement in musicality, technique, expression, performance skills.

July was a vibrant month of learning for Grade V students, filled with grammar drills, creative writing, and meaningful literature discussions.

In Grammar, learners revised Sentences and explored Verbs through interactive games, videos, and hands-on exercises. Concepts such as subject-verb agreement, phrasal verbs, and verb forms were reinforced through engaging class tasks and assessments.

Writing sessions focused on structured Paragraph Writing, introduced using the burger model. Students wrote on themes such as animal extinction (SDG 15), marine conservation (SDG 14), and post-trip reflections following their visit to the Qutb Minar as part of the ETM – Education Through Monuments programme. Research-based writing on endangered species further deepened their understanding and awareness.

In Literature, students enjoyed reading “The Hare and the Tortoise”, discussing morals, alternate endings, and character swaps. They also explored “Sherlock Holmes” through loud reading and created mind maps of clues, enhancing their analytical thinking.

The Holiday Homework Presentation—designing travel brochures—allowed students to showcase their learning creatively and confidently.

​This month in French, our Grade V learners explored Chapter 3 with a focus on reading and pronunciation, learning about different countries and their nationalities. They practiced saying names like la France, l’Inde, le Japon and matching them with nationalities such as français, indienne, and japonais. Alongside textbook and workbook exercises, they gathered basic information about countries, their capitals, and locations using simple French sentences. The students also revised all previously covered topics in preparation for PA-1, including greetings, numbers, subject pronouns, and vocabulary through engaging activities, games, and mock practice. It has been a fun and productive month of learning and revision, and we are proud of their progress!

पाठ ७ व ८ में जब प्रथमपुरुष एकवचन और द्विवचन पढ़ाया, तब बच्चों ने “सः पठति”, “तौ पठतः” जैसे वाक्य स्वयं बनाकर बोलना शुरू किया। इस क्रम में हमने एक संवाद लेखन कार्य भी किया जिसमें दो पात्र आपस में संस्कृत में बात करते हैं। बच्चों की भागीदारी और रचनात्मकता ने यह सिद्ध कर दिया कि संस्कृत को खेल और अभ्यास से बहुत सहजता से सिखाया जा सकता है। यह शिक्षण-अभ्यास मेरे लिए भी अत्यंत आनंददायक और प्रेरणादायक रहा।

As part of Suncity School – 37D’s Education Through Monuments (ETM) initiative, the students of Grade V visited the historic Qutub Minar on 9th July 2025. This immersive educational trip brought history to life, allowing learners to witness the grandeur of Indo-Islamic architecture, connect classroom learning with real-world heritage, and develop a deeper appreciation for India’s cultural legacy.
From admiring ancient inscriptions to observing structural design, students sharpened their inquiry and observation skills. The experience fostered creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication—skills that are at the heart of holistic learning. The lively bus ride, shared laughter, and a delicious lunch added to the joy of this enriching journey.

If Stones Could Speak – A Reflection
Back in the classroom, students translated their experiences into a creative reflection activity titled If Stones Could Speak. Through this interdisciplinary task, they explored the intersection of history, art, science, and language on collaborative A3 posters.

Highlights of the reflection tasks included:

Imagining Voices of the Past: Students wrote from the perspective of the Qutub Minar, reflecting on what it has witnessed over centuries and what message it would share with today’s generation.

Hindi Dialogue: A conversation between the Qutub Minar and the Taj Mahal helped students integrate grammar concepts like pronouns while engaging in cultural storytelling.

Art Meets Science: Learners illustrated the effects of weathering and pollution on monuments and proposed thoughtful actions for preservation.

Time Travel Through a Timeline: A mini-timeline captured key historical events, restoration moments, and the students' own visit.

A Monument Saver’s Pledge: Each group wrote a creative pledge to protect and respect national heritage, decorated like a badge of honour.

The final touch was a beautiful quote placed at the bottom of each sheet:
“Qutub Minar has stood tall for 800 years — let’s make sure it stands proud for 800 more.”

This powerful blend of experience and expression transformed a field trip into a lasting lesson on heritage, responsibility, and imagination.

In our dance sessions, children begin and end each class with Bhumi Namaskar, a traditional gesture of saluting the Earth. This practice helps students cultivate focus, humility, and a deep respect for the art form.

They have also been learning Tatkaar (rhythmic footwork) and Hastak (graceful hand movements) in various layas (tempos). These foundational techniques provide a comprehensive muscular workout—strengthening and toning the leg muscles, enhancing flexibility, and improving blood circulation. More than just movement, these lessons nurture discipline, rhythm, and a meaningful connection to cultural heritage.

April was a month of exploration and learning for the students of Grade V! They began with an exciting ice-breaking activity, followed by reflective sessions. Their language journey progressed with activities focused on nouns, enhancing their understanding of grammar in Unit 2. They explored "The Flight of Icarus," analysing its themes through word phrases, frame sentences, and fill-ups. Additionally, they honed their writing skills through story writing and reinforced their grammar knowledge with revision worksheets, culminating in a Unit Test in May. April was a month of growth, curiosity, academic adventure, and assessment for the students of Grade V!

They also learnt the concept of Pronouns and they explored different types of pronouns—personal, possessive, and demonstrative—and practiced using them in sentences.

​The month was sparked off by welcoming children and they escalated their previous subject knowledge with a series of class quizzes, revision exercises and worksheets. Hereafter, the students were introduced to the topic – Skeletal and muscular system with the help of an informative video. The topic progressed with brainstorming on types of bones and muscles. A KWL activity was conducted to check and enhance their previous knowledge. Students were also taken to the lab to see what the skeletal system looks like and what are the different types of bones and joints in the human body. Learners took up the task to explain how the muscles and bones work through an activity of making a Robotic hand with the materials available at home. In all, it was a fun and experiential learning session. Students understood the importance of bones and muscles in our body, and the chapter was concluded with a quiz on the same.
Further nervous system was introduced, including the brain, its different parts, the spinal cord and nerve cells. The students enjoyed the topic of reflex action, which was practically done in the class with different situations. They further studied the different sense organs, their structure and function with the help of videos and models related to the same. This month was a quality time to quench the thirst for knowledge for children.

"Freedom is never given, it is won." – A. Philip Randolph
This term, our curious Grade 5 learners took a deep dive into the rich and complex history of India’s freedom struggle. They began by exploring the coming of the British and understanding their key policies like the Subsidiary Alliance and the Doctrine of Lapse—strategies that helped the British expand their control over India.
Students then moved on to the Revolt of 1857, analyzing its causes, key leaders, and the impact it had on India’s journey toward independence. They also studied pivotal events like the Battles of Plassey and Buxar, which laid the foundation for British rule.
Building on this, they explored the formation of the Indian National Congress (INC) and conducted a comparative study of the Moderates and Radicals, understanding how their approaches differed yet contributed to a common goal.
The study of the Swadeshi Movement further helped students connect with the idea of self-reliance and patriotism. They also enhanced their map skills by marking the major centres of the Revolt of 1857, making their learning more interactive and meaningful. They further learnt about the different historical events in the freedom struggle and finally culminated the journey by showcasing their learning during the parent walk-in.
This historical journey sparked thoughtful discussions and inspired a deeper appreciation for the struggles and sacrifices made for India's independence.

​The session commenced with great enthusiasm as students collaboratively constructed Indian and International Place Value Charts, reinforcing their understanding of both number systems. They practiced writing 9-digit numbers in Standard, Word, and Expanded Forms, compared and ordered large numbers, and explored forming numbers with and without repeating given digits. Their comprehension was further deepened by rounding off numbers to the nearest tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, and lakhs. Discovering the equivalence between the two number systems added to their enriching learning experience.

Students enthusiastically explored Roman Numerals through interactive activities and practiced extensively to gain confidence in the concept.

Their grasp of Addition and Subtraction was strengthened through real-life word problems and revisiting operations with large numbers.

As an extension of their learning, students showcased their understanding during a parent walk-in through engaging activities such as Shin Edu, Indian and International Number System equivalence, and a Mental Math game—“Spin the Wheel.” They also participated with great zeal in the Number Ninja Inter-House Competition, applying their numerical skills in a spirited and collaborative environment.

​In the month of April and May , we made some exciting discoveries! We started with the French alphabet, and each student learned how to spell simple words and even the name of a classmate – a fun activity that made everyone smile! We also practiced greetings like “Bonjour,” “Salut,” and “À bientôt,” and decorated them in our “greetings flower” activity. We learned to count from 1 to 10 in French, which is helping us in many classroom games. Another fun part of our learning was an imaginary trip to Paris, where we explored famous places like the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre while building our vocabulary. Finally, we began creating short introduction dialogues using subject pronouns like “je,” “tu,” and “il/elle.” Bravo to all the students for their active participation and great enthusiasm!

​In the months of April and May, we learned the basics of Spanish. We started with common greetings, using informal phrases like “Hola” and “¿Qué tal?”, and formal ones such as “Buenos días” and “¿Cómo está usted?”. Then, we practiced introducing ourselves by saying our name, age, and where we live. For example, we said: “Me llamo Ana. Tengo trece años. Vivo en Mumbai.” We also learned to count from 0 to 100 in Spanish, starting with cero, uno, dos, and continuing up to cien. Finally, we explored some basic facts about Spain, such as it being in Europe with Madrid as the capital. ​Welcome to your first German class! Let’s begin with a fun activity to get to know each other and learn some basic German. First, we’ll fill out a simple form using German words. You’ll write your Vorname (first name), Nachname or Familienname (last name), Alter (age), Wohnort (where you live), Lieblingsfarbe (favorite color), and Lieblingstier (favorite animal). For example: “Hallo! Ich heiße Riya. Ich bin 10 Jahre alt. Ich wohne in Gurugram. Meine Lieblingsfarbe ist Blau.”Next, we’ll learn the German alphabet. It has 30 letters, including special ones like Ä, Ö, Ü, and ß. We’ll practice saying them together. Then, we’ll explore the months of the year: Januar, Februar, März, and so on, all the way to Dezember. We’ll also learn the four seasons: Frühling (spring), Sommer (summer), Herbst (autumn), and Winter (winter). Finally, we’ll count from 0 to 100 in German. We’ll start with numbers like null, eins, zwei, and go up to hundert. We’ll play games, sing songs, and have lots of fun while learning.

​In the month of April in Grade 5 ICT class, students were introduced to Microsoft PowerPoint, and it had been an exciting journey of creativity and learning. We began with a few ice-breaker activities to help students feel comfortable and to spark their imagination. One of the first tasks was creating a “The Fitness Planet: Where everyone stays active” slide, where students shared their creativity using colorful text, WordArt, and fun backgrounds. This allowed them to explore basic tools in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Another Integrated task, “The Revolt of 1857” encouraged students to express their learning using pictures, helping them understand the concept of social studies and implementing it in PowerPoint. We also played a fun guessing game called “Design Detective”, where students were shown different geometrical shapes and were asked to guess how it is made in PowerPoint. These activities not only introduced them to PowerPoint but also helped build classroom connections.

As the May month progressed, students learnt about “Advanced Features of Windows 11”. One of the first features we explored was the Snap Layout. Another exciting feature is the Widgets panel, which gives us instant updates on the weather, news, calendar events, and more—perfect for students who like to stay informed! Overall, our students were amazed by how Windows 11 makes everyday tasks faster, smarter, and more interactive. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm grow with each lesson. Overall, it’s been a creative and engaging months, and we’re proud of how much our Grade 5 learners have accomplished!

​Exploring Rhythm & Beats:

1. Basic Hand Movements in Tabla-
Tabla is a popular Indian percussion instrument consisting of two 
drums — Dayan (right drum) and Bayan (left drum). Learning Tabla 
starts with understanding basic hand movements.
Na/ Ta – Struck with fingers on the edge of the Dayan (right hand)
Tin – Full finger strike in the center of the Dayan
Dha – Combination of Bayan (left hand open stroke) and Na (right hand)
Ge/ Ke – Played with the base of the palm on the Bayan for a bass effect

Basic Congo Patterns & National Anthem Rhythm-
The Congo drums are a fun and energetic way to learn rhythm. Students are introduced to:
Open tone (O) – Played with fingers on the edge of the drum
Bass tone (B) – Played with the full hand in the center
Slap tone (S) – A quick, sharp sound made with fingertips

Students also explore the rhythm of the Indian National Anthem
 (Jana Gana Mana) by clapping or playing it gently on Congo. 
This helps them feel the slow, respectful 3-beat rhythm that gives 
the anthem its grandeur.

Introduction to Teen Taal (16-Beat Cycle)
Teen Taal is the most commonly used taal in Indian classical music.
 It has 16 beats divided into 4 equal parts (vibhags) of 4 beats each

​Music that Moved Us: Celebrating Values Through Song 

April and May featured two meaningful songs that beautifully complemented the values we promote in school.

First, “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars lit up the room with its joyful celebration of friendship and support. The students sang with energy and enthusiasm, and their cheerful voices reminded us all of the importance of being there for one another. It was heartwarming to see them embrace the message of kindness and dependability — values we nurture every day in our school community.

In contrast, “Sleeping Child” by Michael Learns to Rock provided a quiet, touching moment during the sessions. With its message of peace, love, and hope for a better world, this gentle ballad offered a chance for reflection. The students performed it with remarkable maturity and emotion, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in the audience. It was a beautiful reminder of the innocence of childhood and the importance of compassion in our world.

​Western Dance with Ms. Jessica Wilson: Grades 3–5 Step Into Style
This month in Western Dance class, students from Grades 3 to 5 explored the energetic and expressive world of Jazz dance under the guidance of Ms. Jessica Wilson. The sessions were dynamic, educational, and full of rhythm and creativity!

Here’s what they learned:
Fundamental Jazz Posture and Alignment
Students practiced essential Jazz techniques, including Jazz walks, kick-ball change, pivot turns, and step touch—all while focusing on maintaining correct posture and body alignment.

Ballet Basics
They were introduced to the five main positions of Ballet, with a focus on 1st position, which they practiced thoroughly. This provided a strong foundation for balance, control, and grace.

The Origins of Jazz Dance
Ms. Jessica also shared insights into the origin and cultural significance of Jazz dance, helping students appreciate its rich history and influence.

Warm-Up and Stretching
Emphasis was placed on the importance of warm-ups and stretching exercises, with students learning detailed routines to prepare their bodies safely and effectively for dance.

Musicality and Transitions
Students explored the concept of musicality, learning to move in sync with rhythm and beats. They also practiced smooth transitions and coordination between steps.

Putting It All Together
Finally, students combined the basic steps into simple, expressive dance sequences, performing with style, confidence, and emotion.

These lessons not only nurtured technical skill, but also built confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for the art of dance.

​Stepping Into Character
During the months of April and May, our students dove into the world of drama through a series of energetic and imaginative activities. These sessions blended movement, observation, and creativity, laying the foundation for expressive and confident performances.

Here’s what they explored:

1.  Igniting Imagination: Students began by imagining themselves as different characters and creatures, tapping into their creativity.
2.  Expressing Through Movement: They discovered how body language and movement can convey powerful emotions and tell compelling stories.
3.  Theatre Walks: Practicing the theatre walk helped build stage presence and confidence, key skills for any performer.
4. Focus and Fun: Engaging theatre games were used to strengthen concentration and focus, all while having fun.
5.  Sharpening Observation: Students honed their observation skills, paying attention to subtle details in people and nature around them.
6.Animal Studies: They explored animal behavior—from the grace of a cat to the strength of a lion—and experimented with voice and movement to transform into these creatures.

These drama sessions were not just about acting—they were about building empathy, awareness, and expressive confidence. We’re so proud of the creativity and enthusiasm our young performers brought to every session!

​In our dance sessions, children begin and end each class with Bhumi Namaskar, a traditional gesture of saluting the Earth. This practice helps students cultivate focus, humility, and a deep respect for the art form.

They have also been learning Tatkaar (rhythmic footwork) and Hastak (graceful hand movements) in various layas (tempos). These foundational techniques provide a comprehensive muscular workout—strengthening and toning the leg muscles, enhancing flexibility, and improving blood circulation. More than just movement, these lessons nurture discipline, rhythm, and a meaningful connection to cultural heritage.

                                                                        
Grade V students explored optical illusions through lines and shapes.
They learned how the brain perceives illusions and how artists use this knowledge to trick the eye.
Each student selected their favorite illusion and recreated it using lines.
For coloring, they used different mediums of their choice — crayons, colored pencils, oil pastels, or watercolors — adding a personal touch to their artworks.

​On April 9, Suncity School 37D hosted The Happy Teeth Workshop for Grades 3 to 5, led by dental expert Dr. Manisha Verma. The interactive session taught students the correct brushing techniques, the importance of regular oral care, and the consequences of neglect. An animated story about bad breath made learning fun and memorable. Students left inspired to maintain healthy teeth and bright smiles for overall well-being.

​The Inter-House Number Ninja Competition for Grades III to V was conducted with great enthusiasm, bringing together all four houses — Arctic, Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific. Participants battled through three thrilling rounds that tested their quick thinking, sharp math skills, and logical reasoning. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as students cheered passionately, proudly supporting their houses and adding to the vibrant team spirit. The final buzzer round, held on 21st April, was especially intense and filled with high energy and anticipation. Kudos to all participants for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication. The event was a resounding success — not just a competition of speed and accuracy, but a celebration of mathematical curiosity, collaboration, and sportsmanship. Here's to nurturing a lifelong love for math that goes far beyond numbers!

The Inter-House Spelling Bee Competition, “Words That Shape the World!”, was held with great enthusiasm and participation from all four houses: Arctic, Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific. The event celebrated language, confidence, and quick thinking, resonating with Margaret Fuller’s words, “Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.”

The competition featured three dynamic rounds:
 Round 1 – Pull the Spell Challenge
 Round 2 – See It, Spell It
 Round 3 – The Word Scrambler

Participants faced increasingly challenging words in a knockout format, demonstrating impressive vocabulary and composure. The auditorium came alive with cheering peers and vibrant house spirit.
The event was a resounding success, showcasing our students’ linguistic talent and teamwork. 

​On April 25, Grades V at Suncity School 37D attended an inspiring session, The Magic of Growing Up, led by Dr. Ritu Jain Khare. She gently explained the physical, emotional, and social changes of adolescence, helping students embrace growth with confidence and curiosity. The event beautifully showcased the power of parent-educator collaboration in nurturing children’s self-awareness and emotional strength during this important phase.

Class Assembly – Grade V A | Theme: Leadership

Grade V A took centre stage with an inspiring class assembly on the theme ‘Leadership’, showcasing the true essence of what it means to lead with empathy, courage, and responsibility. 
The assembly opened with a powerful skit that highlighted the traits of an effective leader – honesty, teamwork, and the ability to listen. Through their thoughtful acting, our young learners demonstrated how leadership isn’t just about leading the way, but also about lifting others up. 
This was followed by an energetic dance performance that celebrated the spirit of unity and perseverance, two qualities that every great leader embodies.
The event also featured a proud moment for many students – a Prize Distribution Ceremony for the winners of the Science and English Olympiads. Their accomplishments were recognised and celebrated, inspiring all students to continue striving for academic excellence. 
The assembly was a beautiful blend of creativity, character building, and celebration of success. It left a lasting impression on the audience and reinforced the importance of nurturing leadership skills in every child.

​Grade V-B Assembly | 1st May 2025
Theme: Dignity of Labour    
  “No job is big or small—every hand that helps is worth our respect.”  
This Labour Day, our amazing Grade V-B students lit up the stage with a powerful and heartwarming assembly celebrating the Dignity of Labour! 
  The day began with a soulful prayer and graceful Saraswati Vandana, setting a reverent tone. The Thought of the Day from the Bhagavad Gita and the Word of the Day—“Conscientious”—reminded us of the value of dedication and integrity.
  A dynamic news segment brought energy and awareness with updates from around the world, including school buzz, weather, sports, and more!
  The highlight? A thought-provoking skit, “Every Job Matters,” that showcased the importance of every role in our school—from teachers to helpers—leaving the audience moved and inspired. 
  Students beautifully connected the theme to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), while using their Multiple Intelligences—from interpersonal to linguistic to kinesthetic.
  In a touching moment, students recited a group poem dedicated to hardworking individuals everywhere, igniting a deep sense of gratitude in all of us. 
  The assembly closed on a high note with inspiring words from Principal Ms. Jayshree Patel, followed by the rousing School and National Anthems.
  And the celebration didn’t stop there! The school proudly felicitated our Hindi Olympiad champions, applauding their brilliance with medals and certificates!  
  A standing ovation to our young changemakers for reminding us:

Theme: The British Era in India

The corridors of Suncity School 37D echoed with the voices of history as the
students of Grade V C brought the past to life through a spectacular class
assembly themed around ‘The British Era in India’. 
Through a compelling and well-researched role play, our young learners transported
the audience back to the time of the British East India Company's arrival,
exploring the dramatic shifts and lasting impact on Indian society. From trade to
transformation, colonization to resilience—the performance was both informative and
emotionally stirring.
The aim of this event went beyond textbook learning. It encouraged students to
develop a deeper historical understanding, think critically, communicate
effectively, and work collaboratively. Seeing history through a human lens allowed
students to build empathy and appreciate the complexities of our nation’s past. 
 As a highlight of the morning, the assembly was followed by a Prize
Distribution Ceremony to applaud our outstanding achievers of the Social Science
and Maths Olympiads. Their dedication and excellence were recognized with great
pride and joy—an inspiration for their peers to pursue academic goals with
determination and passion! 
The event was a beautiful blend of learning, creativity, and celebration. It left a strong
impression not only on the students but also on the teachers and parents present.
Such immersive experiences help reinforce our belief that learning can be both
meaningful and memorable.

​On 15th May 2025, Suncity School 37D hosted the Grade V Parent Walk-In, celebrating student-led, interdisciplinary learning. The event began with a multilingual welcome song, followed by a lively movement activity and a science-English skit on bones. Social Science and Hindi merged in powerful freedom fighter narrations. Interactive learning stations engaged parents with activities like timeline challenges, Swadeshi goods displays, mental math games, and global measurement comparisons. The ICT-integrated Shin Edu platform brought concepts to life visually. Students took pride as educators, while parents became eager learners. It was a joyful celebration of experiential education, curiosity, and collaborative growth.

The Suncity School Investiture Ceremony 2025–26

Beneath the golden glow of tradition, the Investiture Ceremony 2025–26 unfurled like a resplendent scroll of promise at Suncity School, 37-D. The sacred Lighting of the Lamp, an invocation of wisdom and auspicious beginnings, set the stage aglow with solemn grace. The school choir then lifted spirits with their mellifluous rendition of Shine, a hymn of aspiration and leadership.
We were honoured to welcome Commodore S. Vombatkere, NM (Retd.); Indian Navy veteran, cybersecurity pioneer, and Naosena Medal awardee as our chief guest for the day.
Our revered Principal, Ms. Jayshree Patel, extended a heartfelt welcome, her words imbued with warmth, clarity, and purpose. This was followed by a soul-stirring message from our esteemed Director, Ms. Guneet Ohri, who, with poetic elegance, shared a moving composition on the essence of true leadership—an ode to vision, courage, and responsibility. In a moment steeped in sincerity and sentiment, the outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl passed on the mantle of duty, their reflections echoing with grace and gratitude. 
Then came Udaan—a mesmerising dance tableau that breathed life into the spirit of leadership, weaving Kathak rhythms and semi-classical grace into a tapestry of purpose, poise, and passion.
Our Chief Guest, Commodore S. Vombatkere, captivated the audience with a stirring address, interwoven with enriching anecdotes from his own journey—tales of perseverance, resilience, and personal triumph that illuminated the path of true leadership.
The Grand March Past followed—a thunderous symphony of footsteps and spirit, where each stride echoed discipline and determination. Banners soared, hearts beat in unison, and the air pulsed with pride. It was not just a parade, but a promise—of purpose, poise, and potential.
The unveiling of Horizons 2024, badge-pinning, oath-taking, and stirring speeches by the new council marked this ceremonial ascent.
Truly, a morning etched in memory — where values met vision, and young leaders took flight.
